It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our former colleague and friend, Jon Haapanen. Our hearts are heavy as we try to process this great loss. Jon was a hard working man with a quiet demeanor, who we could always count on to get things done around here. He was kind, loving, and would give the shirt off his back if you needed it.

On working here, Jon said “I have been fighting this fight my whole life and wasn’t on the winning side that often. I have always wanted to work in the field but was never really given the opportunity, until now. I truly believe that things happen for a reason and that there are no coincidences. Jeremiah’s Inn gave me that chance, by helping me save my life and showing me how to change my thinking patterns through the social model program, as well as showing me how to live my life by providing me with an employment opportunity. I am very grateful to be part of the Jeremiah’s family, and to be able to give back what was so freely given to me.â€

We will miss Jon terribly, but we have faith that he is finally at rest now, after a long, hard battle.

Services for Jon will be held this Saturday, June 16th at 10am, at St. John’s Church located at 44 Temple Street in Worcester. If you would like to assist the family in covering the cost of his services, a GoFundMe page has been started in his name:
